What is worth putting in your first email
None of this is required — but if you already know it, including it usually saves a round of questions and gets you a quotation or a straight answer sooner.
- What you are measuring, and the sample type
- Roughly how many samples, and over what period
- The instruments it has to work alongside — mass spectrometer, LC, plate format
- Whether this is a new purchase, a replacement or an upgrade
- Any deadline you are working to, such as a grant or tender date
- Whether you need IQ/OQ qualification or a service plan quoted alongside
