Who we are

A distributor with a technical background, not a catalogue

Fintiede Solutions was founded in 2014 by Graham and Andrew Johnston and remains family-run. Graham has spent over forty years in the life science industry and leads the technical side of the business — specification, application questions and getting instruments working properly once they are in your laboratory. Andrew runs the commercial side: quotations, orders, import and delivery.

Two people, both reachable directly. No call centre, no ticket queue, no being handed between departments.

That structure is the point rather than a limitation. When you call about a method that is not behaving, you are talking to someone who knows the instrument and can escalate straight to the manufacturer. When you need a quotation revised before a grant deadline, you are talking to the person who writes it.

What we represent, and why it is a short list

We represent manufacturers we can genuinely support rather than everything on the market. Each brand we carry is one we have installed, run and troubleshot. Across the range that covers LC-MS proteomics, chromatography columns and emitters, laboratory automation, label-free interaction analysis, nucleic acid purification and environmental testing chambers.

Service and support are undertaken by Fintiede in collaboration with each OEM manufacturer. That means a single point of contact at our end, with the manufacturer’s engineering behind it when a problem needs it.

Import handled at our end

Buying instruments from overseas manufacturers usually means duties, customs paperwork and an unpredictable delivery date. We hold the import relationship, so you order from a UK company, receive a UK invoice and take delivery without managing any of it.
